FAMILY CENTRED EMPLOYMENT PROJECT (FCEP)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Family Centred Employment Project is a major initiative by the Federal Government, and one of the first social inclusion initiatives of the Australian Social Inclusion Board. A key priority of the Government's Social Inclusion Agenda is to assist jobless families with children, and in particular to increase the social and economic participation of members of these families.
To pilot strategies to achieve this and to inform future policy and program development, the Federal Government has committed $4.5 million to fund three FCEP projects in Goodna (Queensland), Broadmeadows (Victoria) and Mansfield Park and Angle Park (South Australia) over the next three years.
Pathways, in partnership with Employment Services Holdings (ESH) and ConNetica Consulting were the successful tender for the FCEP for the suburb of Goodna. Pathways development of the tender with specific focus on psychosocial support and experience in headspace and the use of The Care Manager (TCM) were considered crucial aspects to the tenders' success.
The project is for three years (concluding June 30th, 2013) and will work with select families from the Goodna area to improve their social participation, mental health outcomes, education & training, and employment participation.
